An art teacher, not an IT specialist.

I am feeling like there's a lot of overlap in teaching and technology. For all the teachers, do you feel like you are just now starting to do exactly what you went to school for, and for the new teachers, do you truly feel prepared to teach your subject area or are the expectations way too high to try to do both? I've also been getting a lot of calls to be a substitute when I haven't actually subbed in several years. There's a shortage there too.
