Twitter will now give users a number to select from for a tweet countdown. The countdowns range from 5 seconds to 30 minutes. The countdown can be changed throughout the 30 minutes. The feature is only available for smartphones. Twitter had rolled out the feature in some countries in August. <br><br>Twitter laid off employees in its content moderation team and other departments. The company is expected to remove something that's been central to the platform: the blue checkmark verification. <br><br>Ed Donahue covers technology for VOA from Washington.
