Hello, I am at the Shot Show in Las Vegas and I had a few questions for the manufacturers and the people from all the companies I just talked to the people from Bushmaster and it’s not good. They’re no longer going to be producing the ACR, they’re no longer going to be producing the ACR enhanced. They’re completely shutting down and they’re not going to do any more and the reason is that the ACR has not been selling very well it was a very expensive rifle to produce. It’s just too much competition out there, the demand just isn’t there right now.

I also asked them about any new models of the ACR, maybe ACR 2, ACR next gen, nothing, nothing on the horizon.

I also stopped by the G3-100 and the piston G3-100, both of those have been discontinued.

I then went to the Bushmaster booth and I asked one of the guys there about any new models of the bushmaster and his answer was that they might be producing some new things, but he didn’t know much. Their main goal is to get the bushmaster out on display and to get the M4-100 ACR to keep on producing.

That’s it for now, I’m going to go check out a few more things. But it’s not good news, thank you.

Edit: I also asked the person at the Bushmaster booth about the ACR and he said it’s a great rifle, but it’s a niche rifle. And right now, there’s not much demand for it. It’s just the reality of it.

Edit 2: I stopped by the LWRCI booth to get an idea of what’s going on. I asked them about theREPR and all the REPR offerings they had. They said all of the REPRs have been discontinued. They are no longer producing them. The reason is that the REPR just didn’t bring in enough revenue to continue production and right now they’re all about producing the ATC. The REPR is a great rifle, but it’s an expensive rifle to produce. This is disappointing news of course.

Edit 3: I just stopped by the Ferfrans booth, CMMG booth, and the BG 15 booth. I asked about the CQB, piston CQB, and the DRAC-100. Good news, The CQB and the CQB piston will continue to be produced, no word on a Gen 2 CQB. Unfortunately though, they are no longer producing the DRAC-100. The DRAC-100 did not sell very well and they just didn’t see the need to continue production. They will continue to produce CQB and CQB piston.

Edit 4: I stopped by the LWRCI booth and I had a few questions for them. I asked the guy at the LWRCI booth about the ATC. I asked him why there has been such a delay in all the ATC offerings and the reason he gave me was that they’re still looking for the perfect gas piston system for the ATC. They don’t want to let anything out and have to recall it. They’re going to make sure that it’s perfect. He did say that it’s possible we’ll see some new offerings this year, but I got the feeling from talking to him it might be next year. I also asked him about the ATC with a 9-inch barrel will it ever be made? He said they’re not sure, but the 7-inch barrel was a struggle to get the gas piston system to work right, so I got the feeling from him and the ATC with a 9-inch barrel it might be a 14-inch barrel.

Edit 5: I stopped by the LWRCI booth again and I had a few questions. Their new ATC SCW, will it be available in all the different color profiles they offer? Absolutely. They said it will be available in all the different color profiles. I did ask them when will the ATC SCW with the 10-inch barrel be made available, he said it’s going to be next year. I did ask if it will be available in all the different barrel lengths and the answer he gave me was likely next year, but likely next year. I asked him if it will be available in the next few months and the answer he gave me was let’s just say next year. I asked him will the next gen ACR be made available, he said no. The reason is that the next gen ACR was going to be made with a polymer stock. But right now, it’s too expensive to produce, so he said we’ll see.

Edit 6: I just met a few people right now at the Shot Show 2023 — V Seven, a few people from Maxim Defense, and a few people from Bushmaster. This is what they had to say and I asked them all the same questions—will piston AR continue to be the top contender or top piston AR system in the piston AR system market? Their answer was that the demand has already decreased for piston AR systems. They’re still selling, but the demand for them has already decreased. And likely this year and next year, the demand will drop even more. Right now, the demand is still there, but it’s dropping very quickly.

Edit 7: I stopped by the LWRCI booth and I asked one of the guys about the next gen ACR. He said there is no next gen ACR, so right now, they’re not working on it. They said it is possible, but right now, they’re just not working on it. But who knows, let me check and see what else I can find out. I stopped by the LWRCI booth again and I asked one of the guys about the next gen ACR. He said that there is no next gen ACR. He said it’s not the plan right now, but maybe in the future. I did ask him if it’s possible that LWRCI would release the next gen ACR in the next few years and he said that anything is possible.
