I’m shaking as I type this. The fucking patriarchy is so goddamn strong everywhere.

I’m from India, for those who don’t know already, we have the most vile, dumb, sexist and patriarchal men ever. We literally arrest women for protesting against rape and violence. Women are beaten up for speaking out.<br><br>We recently passed this Women’s Reservation Bill which was passed with a lot of struggle. The bill was meant to reserve 33% of the seats in the parliament for women. But what happened? Women in the opposition party started protesting and screaming about how the bill would lead to a Muslim woman becoming the Prime Minister (if Congress comes to power). Because apparently a Muslim woman Prime Minister is more dangerous for the country than Hindu misogynists.<br><br>But, the real issue is that women continue to elect and vote for these fucking misogynists. Women in India would rather vote for a rapist than a woman. As I type this, I’m still angry because a woman’s safety is of no concern. Women here are asked not to go out after 10pm because men are rapists and can’t control themselves.<br><br>I’m so tired of the patriarchy. Honestly, I’m so fucking tired.
