Why do people care so much about pedigree?

so im a small breeder doing this just for the love of the breed and becasue i've always wanted too. Ive never done this before. I'm trying to learn and plan everything out. I really couldnt afford to get a dog of my breed a few years ago. so i never did, even though i have always loved this breed with all my heart. So before this dog my siblings got a dog for a friend of theirs. and it was an amazing dog. but it was not a pure bred. so now years later, i've saved up for a dog of the breed i love and got the exact dog i wanted and guess what? it is not a pure bred. And now everyone is making fun of me for 'not even having a real (insert breed here)'. So i ask you guys here who also breed real (insert breed here). Why do you care so much about where the dog came from? I dont understand why it matters. Can we not just enjoy our dogs without critizing other peoples?<br><br>Edit: to those of you who actually read the post and didnt just look at the title and judge me im very sorry that y'all have had to deal with people who claim to be breeders who dont do the research.<br><br>Edit 2: to be very clear i am not saying pedigree is bad. I just dont understand why people look down on dogs for not being pure bred. I understand the importance of knowing the lineage of your dog. I just dont get why people put so much value on this.
