There is only one way to improve your focus: deleting all social media and using a block list app.

You all know it by the heart: even if you have “improved your focus” or “eliminated distractions,” you will never be able to resist the endless scroll.<br><br>There is a reason why North Korea has such extreme restrictions on internet freedom: the quality of life there is higher than you’d think, provided you know nothing about the world outside. For as long as you don’t know what you are missing, you are content with what you have.<br><br>The reason why we are distracted is because the social media algorithm works to make us believe we are missing out. And the only way to cure that is to delete all social media or throw away the phone.<br><br>There is really no other way. There is no algorithm that can magically make you focus. There is no way that you can bring yourself to focus by willpower alone. There is no app that you can download that will help you become more focused.<br><br>I have tried all of them: Freedom, SelfControl, StayFocused. They don’t work because if you know there is an easy way to bypass them, you will inevitably fall into the trap. It’s like knowing that you can cheat on a test. The thought will persist until you cave in.<br><br>So here is the only way to improve your focus: throw away your phone or delete all social media and YouTube. Make sure you have a landline at home. Delete all news sites from your bookmarks and do not visit them. <br><br>If you are worried about missing out on world news, I can guarantee that nothing life changing has happened in the last 4 years in the world. <br><br>You can also consider a flip phone, but that may not make a difference.
