What actually works?

I'm so tired of browsing this board and finding the answer to be "Do the Pomodoro Technique but give it a different name" or "Track everything and then do it all manually another way."

I can 100% hear that doing things this way helps people create routines and build habits and supercharge their lives and create a life-changing schedule. The problem is that I'm already underwater and struggling to manage my obligations. Creating a 10+ item to-do list, creating a schedule out of them, cutting them down to size, etc. etc. makes me feel like I'm spending 90% of my time getting ready to be productive and only 10% actually doing things.

So? What works? When you're at the bottom of the productivity ladder, what are the first few rungs? What are the apps, hacks, websites, etc. that will help get me out of the mud and moving again?

Thanks.
