I can't believe how many people don't understand polyglots and linguists: here is why

I'm just gonna make this short and to the point. I am a French speaker and I study Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Japanese. I'm 18 and a first year university student.

I see so many people here asking questions about polyglots and how they did this and did that. Why can't you just study and make the effort to get to where you want to be?

It's not that hard people. Just stop pretending that polyglots are some kind of demigods. They have worked harder than you have at this point, and shut up about it already. Most of them are not even fluent in all of the languages they claim to speak either.

Kinetic and shade gloss over how easy it really is for them, and if you have a decent phonological and grammatical basis, it just doesn't take as long to become fluent.

Sorry if I sound so bitter but I hate that our entire community is viewed through the prism of dumb polyglot youtubers.
