My elderly neighbor shared a stew that she made for me and I gave some to my cat. She took the leftovers back.

My elderly neighbor "Mrs C" is a really sweet lady. I'm a 29F and I live alone. I have a cat named Teddy.

Yesterday, Mrs C said she had made a big stew for herself and invited me over to eat a dinner with her. The food was really good and I told her so. She was all smiles. I think I might have accidentally given her the wrong impression about my appetite because today she dropped off an even bigger Tupperware tub of stew and yesterday's leftovers. When I took the leftovers back to Mrs C, she laughed and said, "Oh, I was going to eat that myself!" I was embarrassed because it's true that there are a few bones at the bottom of the Tupperware and because I gave all of the leftovers to my cat.

She is still a really sweet lady and I would be happy to help in any way. I told her because I didn't want her eating from the Tupperware tub and finding a chicken bone from Teddy's dinner.
