The more I learn about AI, the more I question the decisions of tech companies (and more)

Almost every company these days seems to be all in on AI. Many are hovering around 50/50 of their engineers working on AI. Does that even make sense? Is that a smart decisions long-term? It seems like the people pushing AI the most have no idea what it is or what it's capable of (I'm not talking about top engineers, but CEOs and politicians like Zuckerberg). There is already a growing movement to regulate and ban AI, how do they not see this? Not to mention, AI has the potential to destroy 50-75% of all jobs (and probably much more in the future)

Companies need to not be blinded by the profitability of AI and think about the bigger picture. Otherwise, they won't be able to understand why they're losing a huge portion of their users and customers.
