AITA for telling my MIL that if she couldn’t afford to pay me, she could do it herself?

I am 14, F, and i used to regularly babysit for my neighbors. I love kids, so babysitting is no problem for me. I also need a job because i am saving up for college. <br><br>My brother has a 3 month old baby, and my MIL would often come over to help with babysitting. I am very close with my MIL, and i loved spending time with my little sister. However, my MIL started asking my parents to pick me up from school and take me to her house, where i would watch my niece for the rest of the day.<br><br>I would also have to come over to my brothers house on weekends to babysit while he and his wife went out on dates. I started to feel more like their child than their sister, and I missed out on a lot of things that i had already planned, like sleepovers.<br><br>I am a very easy going person, so i didn’t really say anything about it at first. But i missed out on a sleepover i had already planned for more than a month, and i got really upset. I told my MIL i missed out on a lot of stuff because i had to watch my niece.<br><br>She asked how i felt about it, and i told her i can’t miss out on everything just to babysit my niece. She asked me what i wanted, and i told her i wanted to be paid to babysit because then i wouldn’t have to worry about spending time with my friends. She told me she didn’t have enough money, and i told her i couldn’t babysit anymore.<br><br>I also told her she didn’t really need me to babysit because my niece is really easy to take care of and my brother and SIL are often home. She started crying and telling me i was being selfish and not caring about my niece. She told my SIL, and my SIL started telling me i was being selfish too, and i can’t just tell my MIL i would only babysit if i was paid.<br><br>She told me if i loved my niece and family i would babysit for free. I told her i didn’t care i wasn’t babysitting anymore. My brother started calling me and telling me i was being selfish, and i wasn’t showing i cared about my family by not babysitting. <br><br>AITA for not wanting to babysit for free?
