I accidentally stole something from a dollar store.

I was so busy counting my change at the checkout that I forgot two items I set on the counter. I tried to put them on my waist with my heavier purse but they fell to the ground. I realized I left them when I was almost at the car. I panicked and tried to bring it back but the manager and a employee were right behind me. I said “I can’t go back now” so I grabbed my stuff and left. They came to the door and yelled as I was leaving. I allowed myself to steal before but not now. I feel like I really screwed up.
