Gotcha gotcha - I was not a Karen, I was just pretending to be one

1st of February a bunch of people decided to throw snowballs at the parliament building in Budapest, Hungary - while our prime minister was inside. Great timing, by the way. A few of them were arrested, and on the 15th one of them, a young student was given a suspended prison sentence.

A few days later he is arrested again, for breaking the Covid rules by demonstrating, and his whole university is thrown under the bus by pro-government media for "letting this radical student in". As we live in a dictatorship, the university is quick to distance themselves from the guy, and tries to pretend they didn't know.

Well, the student saw all this on Facebook while he was in prison, so the first thing he does after being released is to go to the university and ask for them to put a statement up saying that they are behind him.

While he is there, someone else comes out and asks him why he is so radical, and if he really thinks this is going to change anything. He tries to explain, but the guy walks away, and that's when I heard what was going on and stepped in.

I pretended to be an old, clueless Karen, and started to ask him things like "if you are a university, how come you can't speak english?" and "what are you doing here, did you kill someone?" and "don't you know that you're a student?" and I kept asking him more and more questions, to the point where he started to get really annoyed.

I had him right where I wanted him - with one more question he would have lost it completely. Then the journalist came, and asked him for a quote, and that was it. The young man lost it completely, and yelled back at the journalist with something like "I just keep getting attacked, why couldn't you do your job and ask some real questions, like what do you think will happen to this university?".

I was left standing there, smiling to myself, feeling very proud of myself for the way I handled the situation.
