I'm a pretty good cook, but I've only really just started cooking for myself. When I was a kid, my dad didn't cook, so I only ate at home when I was with my mom. Now that I have my own place, I want to try to learn more about cooking different kinds of food at home.

Do people make full meals and reheat them when they want to eat them? Or do people cook every time they eat? Do you eat cereal for breakfast every day? I'm going to start with rice and chicken, I figure. Or pasta. But I don't really know what to do with the chicken, I love chicken, but I don't know what to do with it. It's always so boring, I don't know if it's just me, or if I'm doing something wrong.

Does anyone know of any good resources for learning how to cook? I know there are cookbooks and tons of other stuff, but I don't really know if I want to just spend a bunch of money on cookbooks.

I'm sorry if any of this stuff is confusing. Cooking just seems so overwhelming to me.

Thanks!

Edit: I have a job, but I don't really have the budget to eat out that often. I'm really just looking for advice on resources for beginners. I understand that cooking every single meal could be very difficult, I just want to try to learn so that I can make a variety of dishes, and not be in the same routine so much.

Edit 2: Thank you so much for everyone that has commented! I really appreciate all the advice, it's been very helpful! I've always been a bit of a picky eater, but I'm going to try to be open to more things, and I'm DEFINITELY going to try more spices. I'm not really the type of person who likes really spicy food, but I'm open to at least trying it. I've heard of baking chicken, and I've tried it before. I just wasn't really sure if it's a good way to prepare chicken.

>Do people make full meals and reheat them when they want to eat them? Or do people cook every time they eat them?

For the love of God, yes. Do this.
