# Chambers’s 8th-grade English Project

I never really liked to read in middle school. I had read a few books that my teacher encouraged me to read. I’ve never thought to ask my friends, “What are you guys reading? Any good books you’d recommend?” I was in eighth grade at the time. I had just turned 13 years old. I still had to do my reading project for English class, so I asked my friend, Ava, “Do you have any good recommendations for English?”

“Actually,” Ava said. “I’m reading this really good book right now. If you’re interested, I’ll tell you what it’s about.”

“Sure, I’d LOVE to hear what it’s like,” I said.

“Well, it’s about this girl named Madeline. She’s this girl with this very rare disease called SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency). It’s like, she can’t go outside because if she does, she’ll die. It’s kind of like Covid, but just imagine being stuck inside a house or something for your whole life. It’s so sad. And there’s this boy next door who falls in love with her, but he never gets to see her because he’s afraid she’ll get sick and die.”

“Wow, that sounds so cool!”

“Yeah, I really like it so far!” Ava said.

I went home and told my mom about the book I had heard about. She told me to read the back of the book. I read it and was like, “Oh my gosh, this book sounds so good. It’s about this girl with a rare disease.” I told my mom and she was like, “I can’t believe you’re reading a book about a girl with a rare disease. You have a rare disease and you just read a book about a girl with a rare disease.” I’ve had so many rare diseases in my life, over 50. But like, Ava, the girl who recommended the book to me, she has a rare disease too. None of us would have known that we all had rare diseases and were reading this book about a girl with a rare disease. Crazy how life works, right?

# Instagram’s 8th-grade English Project

I never really liked to read in middle school. I had read a few books that my teacher encouraged me to read. Crazy how life works, right?

# TikTok’s 8th-grade English Project

Here are 3 books you HAVE to read if you like reading. These books are just a few of my favorites.

Book #1. The Strange Library! This book is so cool because it’s about a guy who gets stuck in a library. I know that sounds crazy, but he goes into this library and asks for a book and then he just gets stuck in there and they’re trying to get him to come out. It’s kind of like when you go to school and you just don’t want to leave, so you just stay there. I think it’s cool because it’s relatable.

Book #2. The Giver! This book is so cool because it’s about this future and you don’t know whether it’s a utopia or a dystopia. It’s like, is this future really good or is it really bad? The main character is this kid named Jonas. In this future, no one can see colors, so Jonas has to get taught all these colors from this guy named the Giver. It’s super cool because it’s a whole different world from ours and we get to see and imagine what it would be like living there.

Book #3. They Both Die in the End! This book is so cool because it’s about these two guys who fall in love. One of them just got out of a mental hospital, the other one just got diagnosed with a rare disease. It’s super cool because it’s about these two guys and you keep wondering when they’re going to die and if they’ll die together.

These 3 books are all super cool and I’d recommend them to anyone. Go check them out if you want to read something you might like. Marxism bad. Thank you for watching.
