I'm a Canadian. I'm not sure what kind of echo chamber people in the US are in. Maybe it's Reddit. But from my perspective, the coverage of Trump has been pretty accurate in demonstrating what kind of leader he is. Overwhelmingly, most media outlets that I have consumed (CNN, Fox News, NPR, PBS, The Economist, The Financial Times) all are in agreement that the guy is a complete fucking asshole that is incapable of leading a country. I've literally heard Trump say things that I wouldn't tolerate out of a kindergartener. I'm flabbergasted that he was re-elected after his first year, and then again for a second term. He has complete disrespect for civility, decency, the rule of law, and democracy. And if you voted for him, you knew that going into your decision.

The same is true for the current front-runners for 2024. I have 0 confidence in the Republicans ability to put up a decent candidate that isn't completely shitty at being a leader. I also don't think the Democrats are going to put anybody to challenge that (Biden *might* be an exception, but I doubt it).

So if you voted for Trump, and your country turns into a dictatorship, or a failed state, or whatever, then you fucking deserve it. You made the decision to vote for someone you *knew* was an objectively shitty leader.

Edit: I should add that I believe in universal enfranchisement, but with the understanding that the citizens that did vote have a responsibility to participate in good faith with a good understanding of the candidates they are electing.
