The thing I like the most about British telly is the lack of woke casting

I've been watching a lot of British TV and the thing I noticed the most is that the lack of woke casting. It's probably the most noticeable in medical dramas. They don't try to have half of the doctors black or Asian. The actual representation is much closer to the demographics of the country.

I've noticed that in American television, they try to shoehorn people of colour into most shows. It's to the point where it's unrealistic to the point where you're expected to beleive that half of the police or doctors in New York, Boston, Baltimore, ect are people of colour.

The best example of this was in _Six Degrees of Separation_. In the scene it was a party full of doctors and they were all white. There was one Asian and one gay man...but that's it. Not a single black person...and it was realistic because we all know that most doctors are white, not black.
