My best friend is going to be a single mother.

My best friend is in her 30s and has been in a long-term relationship with her partner. They live together and she was able to get pregnant without any issues. She’s been excited about having a baby ever since she found out. She’s a great person and will definitely be a great mother, but I’m not thrilled.<br><br>We have been friends since college. We live a few cities away from each other and frequently talk in the mornings and see each other on weekends. We were both single in our 20s and hung out a lot and I feel like we missed out on having fun together when we were younger.<br><br>I don’t really like kids and I definitely don’t want any of my own. I’m not thrilled about these changes, but I’m not going to abandon my friend. I’m going to be there for her and I’ll be happy for her, but I’m feeling a bit down about this entire situation. It’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it’s definitely a bummer. Maybe I’m just being selfish, but I want my friend to be single and childfree forever so that we can continue to hang out like we do now.
