Two years after Apple became the first publicly traded company in history to reach a valuation of $1 trillion, another has finally followed suit. <br><br>Amazon rallied in extended trading today after reporting a stronger-than-expected profit last quarter. The surge pushed the e-commerce leader's valuation to $1.02 trillion, according to Bloomberg data. Microsoft Corp. is worth about 40% more.<br><br>Amazon last week passed Alphabet Inc. in market capitalization, vaulting into second place among U.S. publicly traded companies.
