Dog "breeds" suck

Highly specialized "breeds" are slow, unnatural, and lead to health issues.

Dogs shouldn't be classed by their looks. They should be classed as "bodies" to denote their capabilities and natural behaviors. Dogs with thick coats, powerful front limbs, and an athletic build are well-suited for hauling and herding. Dogs with slender builds and powerful hindlimbs are well-suited for hunting. Small dogs with short, powerful snouts are well-suited for killing vermin in tight spaces.

Dogs are too intelligent and versatile for us to have "poodles" and "rottweilers." They're very capable of being multiclass.

Dogs were not meant to be specialized like this. A specialized dog is a compromised dog, who sacrifices physical and mental health for specific behavior. We should let them be dogs and class them based on natural physical abilities, not their history of forced evolution.
