What was life threatening about listening to propaganda radio broadcast from Iran?

Yes, I get that it was at odds with the propaganda that the US government wanted you to listen to. But how is that any different from Russian propaganda? Iran propaganda is threatening because it’s perceived as encouraging people to take action against the government? But the same can be said about Russian propaganda which actively encouraged people to vote against Democrats. <br><br>I thought that freedom of speech is about hearing out all points of view you hate and not just the ones that you like. I thought that democracy is about making an informed decision. Democracy can’t function if people are not allowed to hear anything that might be against the government, even if it’s Iran propaganda. It’s the fact that it’s against the government that it’s propaganda right?
