The most impressive thing about History is that humans are still here.

My girlfriend regularly makes me watch History documentaries. It’s our thing to watch together. I’m not much of a fan of History, but I make the effort because I love her. <br><br>She often says that humans are destined to destroy ourselves. And in a way I agree with her. I regularly see History repeat itself, and regularly see us fuck up things. But the thing that I find so interesting is that we are still here. <br><br>We are still here after everything we’ve done to ourselves. We still have cities, countries, businesses, and every form of society that we had prior to the catastrophes that we’ve faced. Humans are super resilient. <br><br>I wonder regularly what will it take for us to say that History is over, and that we have reached the end. <br><br>But until that day, I guess what I’m saying is that we still have a chance to say, “We made it this far. I think we can make it a little further.”
