How to handle a sudden demotion?

I worked my ass off to get promoted to team lead, then our company laid off a bunch of people. We basically have 1/3 of the number of clients we used to have, and I was told I was going to be demoted back to a regular customer service rep. I'm paid by hour, and my salary wouldn't change. I'm really upset, especially since all my hard work to get promoted, then 5 months later I'm demoted. How would you handle this?<br><br>Edit: for more context, my title would change, my salary would not, and my duties would change.
