How long would it take to learn Romanian with Portuguese?

From what I have gathered, Portuguese and Romanian share a lot of similarities. I was curious, for someone fluent in Portuguese, how long would it take to learn Romanian? Would it be a compliment to Italian and French, being a Romance language?
