Why the hell do people keep calling AI "artificial"?

I've been seeing tons of people refer to humans as "artificial" when compared to AI. Like, the fuck is going on. The ones calling humans "artificial" are already the ones saying that AI is the future, humans are dead, etc. All that kind of stuff.
