Kids are getting mutilated by gender surgery and no one is talking about it

I work at a local high school. I’ve been seeing a trend of boys getting breast tissue removed, girls getting double mastectomies, etc. I’ve known a handful of students that have gotten this surgery. They are 14-16 years old. Many of them regret it afterward. Some of them say they felt like they had to because their friends were doing it. Many people on social media have been talking about it as well. There’s been an explosion of young teens getting their bodies mutilated. I can’t help but feel like it’s a social contagion. I don’t think many of them have gender dysphoria, they just want to feel like they fit in. This is all enabled by school counselors and administrators that encourage these kids to get these surgeries. I’ve heard so many stories of school counselors convincing kids that they are trans. Just because you thought about it, doesn’t mean you need mutilating surgery. It’s messed up that this is happening. I don’t know if we’ll really see the damage that this causes until a decade or two from now.
