Too Big for Plus Size Clothes

If you haven't heard, plus size now means "midsized". All plus size clothing lines now cater to people who are curvy but still a size 8. I have been shocked by how small plus size clothing is now for name brand stores, and the plus size influencers who say that it's plus size. There are some plus size influencers who are honest about their size, even though they're "small" for plus size. There's still a lot of influencers who lie about their size to influence people to buy smaller sized plus size clothing.

The average American woman is a size 14, which means her waist is about 36 inches. I saw an interview with the influencer CeCe Olisa and she complained that the name "plus size" is getting in the way of her career. She's a size 10 and her waist is about 30 inches. She said that she feels that plus size clothing doesn't fit her. "Plus size" is not a size, it's a range of sizes. The term was coined because it was less offensive than "fat" and didn't point out a specific size.

I recently bought plus size cardigans from H&M, and had to get a 2XL. I weigh 230 lbs and my waist is about 42 inches. I have a lot of clothes from H&M that are XL and fit me perfectly. I bought a cardigan from ASOS and had to get a 22, but all of my other clothes from ASOS are a 20. I bought a cardigan from Hot Topic and had to get a 3XL. I had to get a 2XL in their plus size jeans.

I saw an article that plus size stores are catering to "midsized" women because there is a market for plus size clothing that caters to people who are curvy but not "fat". They claim that plus size clothing has been too big for "midsized" women, but the clothes are actually too small for plus size clothing. There is no plus size clothing for plus size people, since plus size stores cater to smaller people.
