I'm a 30 year old male. I want to be a teacher. Where do I start?

I've come to the realization that I want to be a high school History teacher. I have a 5 year old and a one year old, and my wife is expecting our third in February. In the past few months, I've been realizing that I want to be home with my kids more. I want to be able to attend soccer practices and games, school plays, and band recitals without having to ask off work for a random Wednesday at 1:30.

In the past few weeks, I've started feeling a pull towards teaching. I went to college right out of HS, but switched majors multiple times and ended up dropping out my senior year. I have an AS, but it's not in anything that I feel I can use to get into teaching.

My question is, where do I start? How can I go from a 30 year old guy with an AS and a job in a totally unrelated field, to a guy with a teaching job?

I live in Oregon, and I'm not sure if that makes a difference. But any advice would be appreciated.

TL;DR: 30 year old guy with young kids wants to switch careers to teaching. What are my next steps?
