I've been lurking in the PF community for years. This is a great resource for advice, and it was nice to read through peoples success stories and the good personal finance choices.

However, the amount of "my 25 year old husband bought me an iPhone 16 and treated me to a Nandos but he's on a budget" posts are becoming too much. It seems as though this sub is being bombarded by young women who seem to be bragging about buying themselves lavish gifts.

Previously PF was a place to get great advice from people who would give you solid, straightforward tips on how to save money, and how they've made decisions to save money. Now the posts are getting too materialistic. Are we really going to pat people on the back for spending a small fortune on items they don't need? PF has become a space to commemorate poor personal finance choices and then get 5000 upvotes as a reward.
