What's the purpose of this sub?

I believe that's the question that needs to be answered. I'm still relatively new here. I've been active for about a week, but I've dealt with enough contradictions.

Before I get started, I want to state that I do see quite a few posts that can be dealt with. I'm not talking about them. I'm specifically talking about the lack of consistency from moderators. I've had multiple contradictions.

For example, when I first joined I posted to see what would happen. I posted my story completely. I was met with posts similar to this "I don't use doc links. I use copy and paste. I'll copy it here." I'm like... huh. Cool. So that's allowed here. So I dealt with that.

But then my next post was dealt with differently. I posted the link to my story. I was met with a moderator saying "If you want to be critiqued you'll post it here or your post will be deleted." So then I'm like, well. That's not consistent.

**My main issue with this sub.**

* What's the purpose of this sub? "First, please note that we don't have any critique guidelines in place, nor do we have any restrictions on what kind of writing you can post.

We exist to be a space that’s free from influences on what you think is good writing. By extension, we’ll be a space for you to decide what you think is good writing, yourself.

This means "first, do this, and second, do that, then third..." posts will be deleted. We have no interest in writing rules. We have no interest in writing advice. We have no tolerance for writing guides. We are a space for all writers to post their work. We are fully respecting your artistic freedom.

Please respect ours, as well, by allowing us to critique your work without any preconceptions about what writing should be or how it should be written."*

So the point of this sub is to provide critiques while fully respecting the writer's artistic freedom. That leads to my next gripe. I dealt with a mod who deleted my post because I said that if I get any comments "like the basic writing rules, show don't tell, etc. you'll be ignored." And the mod said "If you don't want people to follow writing rules, this may not be the right chamber for you." I'm like... huh. Cool. Did you read the purpose of this sub? I may not be the right person for this sub because I don't want to get critiqued on writing rules? I'm confused.

**Another main issue with this sub.**

* Despite the fact that you have the option to message mods on Chambers, it seems that you can't do that here. I would like to give the mods the benefit of the doubt. I would like to give them the same grace that they give to me on my writing critiques. I would like to think that they're simply overworked, and therefore they don't give any grace to anyone. But, that's no excuse for not responding to messages. I dealt with one where I messaged them for over a month and they never once responded. So, I'm like... huh. Well, I guess I should just delete my post. So I deleted my post and took it to another sub. And dealt with no contradictions.

I believe this sub would be a lot better if there was one person doing all the modding. I don't think this sub needs multiple mods. I think one person is enough. And I think there should be a way to message that one person.
