Ok, lets say you want to go to the supermarket and buy some coffee. You don't really care about the origin of the coffee or what kind of coffee it is and so bought a pack of coffee made by Nestle, the biggest coffee company in the world.

In this case, you don't care about the coffee itself, you only care about the fact that it is Nestle.

In this case, that brand made you NOT hesitate to buy the product, NOT to check what kind of coffee or what kind of quality it is, NO, you trust that brand to take care of everything for you and to present you with a high quality product.

You want to go to the gym?

Oh NO, you don't care about the quality of the gym or what it has, you care about whether it is mainstream or NOT. A business that is "well known" and is located all around the country, thus, a "branded" gym, is infinitely better than any Gym that isn't "branded" and doesn't have many branches all around the country.

The same thing applies to mobile phones. Apple is a "branded" business, it is trusted by everyone, NOT because it is the best quality, but just because people say that it is.

I repeat, the idea of a brand is misleading and it reeks of Capitalism.
