The man who took my hair.

This happened almost seven years ago when I was 20 years old. I was in college, working part time at Wendy's (fast food).

One night, I was working the drive through window. A man pulled up, ordered his food, and paid without incident. When he drove up to the window to collect his food, I handed him the bag, and he smiled kind of weirdly at me. Like, it was awkward enough that I noticed it. I gave him his food and he drove off.

It was a moderately busy night and I didn't think anything of it. That was until the next time he pulled up to the drive through window. This was maybe 30 minutes later.

I was kind of shocked, to be honest. This wasn't uncommon at Wendy's, especially late at night when people would come through the drive through more than once on a drunken loop, but it was still a bit unusual that the man was alone, and didn't seem to be drinking.

He ordered food, paid, and I handed him his food. Again, he gave me that awkward, off-putting smile.

At this point, my manager had noticed the man coming through the drive through repeatedly, and she kind of pulled me aside and asked me if I was okay, if I felt safe with this man pulling through so often. Honestly, I kind of blew off her concern. I didn't think much of it. I didn't perceive him as a threat. It was a fast food restaurant, and I had zero reason to believe any danger was headed my way working in such a public, heavily trafficked place.

I went back to work in the drive through window, and the man came back *a third time*. I remember kind of laughing, and asking, "Hi again!" as he pulled up to the drive through. So at this point, my manager is getting pissed, and tries to call the cops, but they aren't too interested. My manager has the other employees take over the drive through, and she and I go in the back to talk to the cops.

Well, the man pulls up again, and he realizes I'm not in the window. At this point, one of my co-workers is taking orders, but I can hear the man shouting at her through the drive through intercom.

"What's your name, I like your hair!" He shouted. This went on for a few minutes, him shouting at her in the drive through, asking for my name, what my hair smelled like, etc. It was honestly like something out of a horror movie.

My manager, in an effort to get the man to go away, decided to try and talk to him. She went up to the drive through window and said something along the lines of, "Listen, I'm not trying to be a bitch, but you need to stop coming through here. You're freaking out my employees."

His response was, "I know your name, I'm coming back for you."

She shut the drive through window and called the cops again. This time, they came.

When the police came, they spoke to the cameras in the parking lot, and found that the man in his car, in the parking lot, was wrapping my hair around his fingers.

The cops went to his car and arrested him, and honestly, I have no idea what happened to him. I don't know if he went to jail, or if they committed him to a mental institution.

This was seven years ago, and it still gives me the creeps.

EDIT: I know it sounds crazy that a man would drive up to the drive through repeatedly and ask me about my hair, and I can't even begin to describe how awkward it was. All I know is that my hair was long and flowing at the time, down to my shoulders. I don't doubt for a second that this man had some fetish for hair.
