After doing some reading on the topic, I've found conflicting accounts of the first meetings between nations. For example, the first meeting between Europeans and the Aboriginal Australians saw the natives try to murder the invaders out of the fear of their pale skin, whereas when some Australians met the black people from African countries for the first time after 1788, they were convinced that the black people were cannibalistic demons.

So I'm just wondering, when nations first made contact, what were people's first impressions of each other when they met?
