Why do Hindus declare themselves Secular?

I have seen many Hindus don't want to be seen as a Right-Wing religious person. I was having a discussion with my friend from school days and she was trying to justify her perspective on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and was saying it's part of the democracy and secularism. She argued that RSS was also banned at the time of Independence and was speaking as if it was justified. I was like, RSS was banned as it was formed by Hindus and based on the Nationalist ideology. RSS was banned for doing nothing like PFI but I guess it was banned because of the then Congress government. <br><br>She also said that the RSS has built several schools and so did PFI and was saying that Popular Front of India is not doing any bad things. I was saying that it's based on Islamic Nationalism and is against the Constitution of this country. PFI doesn't want to be called Indians instead they want to be called Muslims. I was like Popular Front of India is doing the same thing as the RSS was doing before independence. I also read the report of the National Investigation Agency and as per what I understood that it was banned for running parallel government and administration. I also read that Popular Front of India was encouraging the killings of Hindus. I was like how can I be secular as I believe in Hinduism? I was asking her how can she be secular when she is also a Hindu. Why don't you guys be part of Hindu Nationalist groups like RSS, VHP, etc.? Popular Front of India was taking money from ISIS. I was like how can you be part of the Popular Front of India? They also said that taking money from ISIS is not bad. I also read the article in which RSS was taking money from Israel and the USA and many other countries. I was like so what's the issue when Popular Front of India was doing the same thing as RSS. I was saying that RSS is the Popular Front of India of Hindus. I was also like taking money from the US and Israel is part of democracy and secularism. I was saying RSS has built so many schools and colleges and doing so many things for the welfare of Hindus so what's the issue whether RNA takes money from the US or Israel. RSS is doing everything for Hindus so what's the issue? I was saying that I am 100% secular because I believe in secularism and I am taking money from different countries. I also said RSS is secularism because it is doing every work for the welfare of Hindus so why is rss not secularism? I was like I am secularist because RSS is also secularism. I was like RSS is also taking money from Israel and the USA so why are you guys not part of RSS? I also said RSS is taking money from the US and Israel so why is RSS not secularism? I was trying to say this thing to her and many other Hindus so many times but it feels like it has fallen on deaf ears. I was like how can you guys be secular when you believe in Hinduism? I was like being secular and secularism is not for Hindus at all. Because secularism and being secular is for all non-Hindus only and not for Hindus. I was also like you guys are Popular Front of India and not RSS because you guys are speaking the language of PFI. Many Hindus have become secular but Popular Front of India is not secularism. I was also saying that Popular Front of India is taking money from ISIS and many other countries and doing everything for Muslim welfare so why don't you guys join RSS? I was saying many times that RSS is also secularism because it's also doing everything for Hindu welfare and also taking money from Israel and the US and many other countries. This is part of democracy and secularism. I was saying that RSS is secularism and also secular. I was saying many times that RSS is secularism. I also said how can you guys be secularism when you are Hindus? I was like RSS is secularism and so many Hindus also agree with me. Many Hindus have become secular but RSS is secularism. I was saying this thing to my friend and many other Hindus many times but it feels like it has fallen on deaf ears. Many Hindus have become secular but RSS is secularism.
