CMV: The right to bear arms is archaic and has no place in today’s society

I don’t care if you have guns now and you love them or you want to buy a gun and think it’s your right. It’s not. I know change is unpopular, but we need to think about the future and whether or not guns are still serving their purpose. In my opinion, they have no place in today’s society and they can cause much more harm than good. <br><br>We have an army. We have a police force. We don’t need guns. And if you want to argue that it’s for protection for yourself, that’s a bulls*** argument. A gun might protect you and your family once, or twice, but guns kill tens of thousands of people a year. A car is far more likely to save your life than a gun is to. <br><br>I have trouble understanding how people can argue that they have a right to own a gun, but a bomb or an assault rifle is illegal. Because of the potential harm it could cause. That’s why guns should be illegal. People say it’s too hard to abolish guns, but that’s a cop out. Just because something seems impossible, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done. And the sooner we figure that out, the better.
