Please, for the love of God, remember that YouTube is not a substitute for actual studying

I notice a lot of college kids lately are walking around with ear buds in their ears and pretending that they're studying while watching YouTube or listening to podcasts all day. It's not uncommon to see dudes walk into my lecture hall and just put their ear buds in and watch YouTube or play games on their phone for the next 90 minutes while pretending they're taking notes.

If you think YouTube is truly a substitute for real studying, then you're going to be in for a rude awakening down the road.

What pisses me off is when some piece of shit YouTuber like Crash Course or Vsauce will put out a video where they literally just talk about some interesting science facts and then dudes will walk around going "Oh man, science is so interesting! I just learned so much from this video!" And it's just like... bro, you just wasted an hour of your life. You didn't learn anything. You could have learned 10 times more by actually cracking open your science textbook and reading for an hour.

I swear to God, I see this so often lately. I'll be at the library and see a dude have a textbook open on the table in front of him but he's just sitting there on his phone watching YouTube videos. Stop wasting your time. You're not going to learn shit.
