When Odin began the world, he spoke, and his voice echoed across depths of emptiness. He spoke of the Sea, and from his voice the Sea came to be. He spoke of the land, and the mountains, and from his voice they rose up from the water. He spoke of the skies and from his voice the Skies came to be.

He spoke of the Forests, and the Animals, the Birds in the Skies and the Fish in the Sea, and they came to be. He spoke of the Sons and Daughters of the land, the indigenous people of the newly born world, and they too came to be.

Next he spoke of the Earth, and from his voice she came to be, his wife and companion. And she too, she spoke to the land and the people and to the seas and the skies. All came to be spoken as they are, and all came to be as they were meant to be.

Next he spoke of the gods, and from his voice they came to be. Mimir and Hoenir, Lugh and Thor, they came to be as they were spoken. And when they came they too spoke to the land and the seas and the skies and all was made as it was meant to be. Thor spoke of the rains, and the rivers that flowed from the mountains to the seas. Mimir spoke of the Harvest, and the depths of the earth where life was lost and born anew.

Hoenir and Lugh spoke of humans, of their salvation and their damnation. So that all people were born with the capacity for good and evil, and the idea that they could decide their own fate was born. And all was well with the world, for all was as it was meant to be.

But there was a silence that followed all of the speaking, and from this silence the Jotuns were born. They are the children of Odin's silence, and of the silence of the other gods. They are the depths of what cannot be contemplated, of what cannot be comprehended, of what cannot be gleaned.

And so the Jotuns are forever at odds with the gods, for the Jotuns represent what cannot be contemplated. They are forever at odds with humanity, for they are the depths of what cannot be comprehended.

And so the gods are forever at odds with humans, for the gods are forever bound to the people that they have contemplated into existence. And so the gods work to rescue humanity from the depths of the depths, and to preserve the knowledge that has already been gained from the depths of what cannot be gleaned.

And so forever the world is at odds, divided between what has been contemplated and what has not. So that all that cannot be comprehended is forever at odds with what cannot be thought, and the gods rescue those that they have contemplated into being from the Jotuns that exist in the depths of the unknown.

And so there was war, and the gods came to be the victors. They bound the Jotuns to the corners of the world, so that the world would be safe from the depths that could not be contemplated.

And so the world was safe, and the gods ruled. But there is still war, for the gods are forever at odds with what cannot be comprehended and what cannot be contemplated. For the gods have created the world and humanity, but Odin's silence remains.

And so the world is forever at war, for the world will forever be divided between what can and cannot be contemplated. For the idea that humanity can decide their own fate remains, and the idea that humans could be forever lost to the depths of what cannot be comprehended remains.

And so forever, the gods are at war with the depths of the depths. So that forever, humanity will have the capacity for good and evil, and will have the capacity to contemplate depths that they cannot comprehend.

And so forever, the world is as it was meant to be spoken.
