As a police officer, I’m never going to put my hand on a woman like that. Fuck the sheriff in that video.

I’ve never thought that being a police officer would be such a great job. But it’s the only job I’ve ever been able to keep (I have bipolar disorder and it makes it hard to function in a normal 9-5 environment). So I accept that I’m probably going to be a cop for a while. My point is: I’m not doing it for the power, I’m doing it for the paycheck. I don’t care if someone disrespects me or calls me names or whatever. I’m here to help people like I would want to be helped. So I try my best to make that happen. I don’t know if I’d quit if all police weren’t held to a higher standard, but I’d definitely never take a job with an agency that condoned or encouraged that kind of BS.
