If you're new here, you may be wondering — will this stuff actually happen? I've got some great news for you: yes. The process of birth, growth, decay, and rebirth is not only possible, it's inevitable. You're witnessing the decay now, and one day soon you'll see the birth of something new.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>My wife and I were like you. We lived in Florida, spent the last year of our lives registering voters, canvassing, donating to candidates, writing letters to the editor, making phone calls, attending rallies, etc. We were so busy fighting Trump that we didn't have time to do anything else.<br><br>And that was a good thing. We were part of something big, something historic. We were part of a nationwide movement that registered over 2 million voters in Florida alone. We were part of a movement that knocked on 3 million doors in Florida alone.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>So what happened? Why did we move to Canada? The answer is simple: the parties didn't work. The Democratic Party's platform is just as toxic as the Republican Party's platform, and it will never change. The Democratic Party will never support the urgent political reforms our country needs. In fact, the Democratic Party doesn't even want you to *know* how urgently we need to reform our government.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We learned this the hard way. We worked our hearts out for the Democratic Party, and then we realized the party we were working for is just as rotten as the other party.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>That's why we left. We're not Canadians yet, but we're working on it. We will be Canadians someday, and until then we will be people without a country, living in a country we don't recognize as our own.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>But we have a new home, and soon we will have a new country to call our own. Until then, we will be part of a new community, a new culture, and a new society. We will make new friends, and we will find new hobbies. Our new friends will be kinder, warmer, and happier than our old friends. We will meet people from all walks of life, people from countries we never knew existed.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We will learn new things, like how to bake bread. How to cook a chicken. How to make applesauce. How to make beer. How to stop drinking beer. How to make friends. How to treat strangers. How to treat family. How to love.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We will find a new sense of purpose. We will fight for our new country, with all our hearts. We will fight not to defeat the Republicans, but to defeat capitalism. We will fight not to win an election, but to create a better world. And when we fight, we will fight not just for victory, but for fun.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We will learn to be happy, and we will find joy in the simple things. We will find joy in nature. We will find joy in people. We will find joy in animals. We will find joy in music. We will find joy in food. We will find joy in art. We will find joy in science. We will find joy in the unknown.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We will learn to be kind, and we will find joy in helping others. We will volunteer. We will donate. We will give. We will take. We will love.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>And that's not all. We will also learn to be brave. We will learn to take risks. We will learn to speak truth to power. We will learn to stand up for ourselves. We will learn to stand up for others.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We will learn to be humble. We will learn to listen. We will learn to ask questions. We will learn to seek answers. We will learn to stop seeking answers.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>We have a great future ahead of us. It's a future filled with joy, love, and purpose. It's a future filled with laughter, friendship, and freedom. It's a future filled with hope.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>So don't worry about Trump. He will be gone someday. Don't worry about Biden. He will be gone someday. Don't worry about the Democratic Party. It will be gone someday.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Worry about yourself. Worry about your future. Spend your time wisely. Spend your time doing things that make you happy. Spend your time doing things that make your community happy.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>And always remember, no matter where life takes you, no matter what happens to you, you have a great future ahead of you.
