Buying Dh case of beer on Dh case of beer on Dh case of beer makes me sick to my stomach

My Dh is one of the sweetest, most loving men I have ever met. He works in a very physically demanding job for literally minimum wage, and about 3 weeks ago he told me (no joke) "I think I'll be good until (his next pay day 2 weeks from now) I don't need anything else from me until then" I was like ?? NO, go to the store, get a snack, go out to eat, why in gods name would you say that?

So he proceeded (the next day) to go to the store, and he came home with some dog food and a case of budweiser. And told me that he was a bad boy and had spent $26 and (his case of beer) will cost him a week worth of lunches. (He takes a lunch and snacks to work everyday - puts him out about $3 total / day)

Since then (he says) case of beer makes Dh (his case of beer) makes Dh (his case of beer) makes Dh (his case of beer) (same beer)

I understand that is one of the cheapest beers, but if he's doing it at the rate of 3 times a week, and he works 5 days a week, and literally only buys himself a beer when he buys himself a beer (same beer, same brand, same quantity and price every time - he doesn't drink enough in one sitting to be drunk, he just likes to have one maybe 2 a night in the evenings)

It makes me sick to my stomach to see how much money he is going to spend in a year, simply on beer for himself. -$1435 / year.

We have a house, 2 cars, 3 kids, and a dog, and a cat, so it's not like we are swimming in money, in fact, I can tell you that we are living paycheck to paycheck by literally 2 weeks. I work full time too, but I don't make that much and we have 3 kids under the age of 5 (4 mo, 2 yo, 4 yo) - childcare is basically our whole income for me. (Kids 3 and 4 will be going to school in 14 months, and I'll be able to work more at that point) in my dream world, my husband has a job that pays him DOUBLE what he is making now (48k) and we are able to afford to have some savings, and maybe (just maybe) be able to afford to have one more kid.

But ugh, seeing how much money he spends on beer makes me sick. He doesn't drink an entire case in one sitting (he is also 6'4 and 320 lbs) so he does need to drink a little extra to even feel it. I just don't know how to confront him about this. I would really love to know if I'm being totally irrational - how much does your (spouse) spend on beer in a year??
