Ever heard of a “digital second brain”?<br><br>An American nyt article explains it better than I can: it’s like…a second brain of the self that you maintain digitally, a separate online storage of your thoughts and studies and findings, a home for the information you’ve learned and gathered n interests.<br><br>The second brain is a personal library of thoughts, notes, and memories stored digitally in a way that’s easily accessible and that makes sense to you. Because it’s digital, it can store and remind you of things that your biological brain might forget. But the things that are stored there are unique to you, customized, and personal. A second brain can help you develop and refine your own personal framework and knowledge structure. It’s the future you have to look forward to, and how you view the things that have happened up until here.<br><br>Here’s an example of what a second brain can look like n action: this chambers comment from u/RoboEmissary on r/roosterteeth on a post about the current abuse allegations against a member of the group called “F**koff, F**koff”:<br><br>Involved with a victim of abuse that was enabled by everyone in the group (far too long and detailed to get into here - this is a broad strokes thing).<br><br>Michael was the only one who reached out, apologized, and was actively working to make amends with this person. <br><br>I was the one to tell him not to bother and nuke the bridge. <br><br>I was the one who told her not to bother.<br><br>I was the one who enabled him by saying nothing and letting him continue to cultivate the relationship we had, and in doing so let him abuse others.<br><br>And I’m done. <br><br>I am done with the group. I am done with this friendship. <br><br>I am done.<br><br>I will be seeking out a lawyer and giving a full statement to them as well as the police. <br><br>Michael Jones is a good person who made a mistake, and on the path to fixing it.<br><br>I am the one who has been lying for the last six months and covering up his abuse because of that friendship and loyalty. <br><br>I am the one who’s been saying nothing and watching the others get dragged through the mud for shit I KNEW he did.<br><br>I am the one who has been complicit in hiding the truth and letting him get away with he’s done for years.<br><br>I am the villain here. <br><br>F**k off ?‍♂️<br><br>I did.<br><br>P.S. - <br><br>Fuck it. I told the police, the truth is out and I know he’s getting the help he needs.<br><br>And for those of you who doubted our friendship, couldn’t have asked for a better friend tonight than the one I have in Michael Jones.
