How accurate is the depiction of life in a typical British village in the 1920s-1930s shown in the film "Dad's Army"?

The movie Dad's Army (2016) was set in a typical British village in 1944. But my guess is that the way of life in a typical British village in the 1920s-1930s didn't change that much by 1944. <br><br>Was it anything like that in real life back in the day?
