AITA for calling my daughter a racist even though she isn't one?

I am a white Canadian, my wife is as well. Our daughter F19 got into a good college and has a part time job at a restaurant. She's always been a good kid. We're very proud of her.

The problem started with my sil's (39F) husband's (40M) brother (43M) and his wife (41F) when they immigrated from India. They have 2 daughters, one (19F) is a few months older than my daughter the other (17F) is 2 years younger. We have been close to them for many years and are considered family.

My brother and sil have a big house and they moved in with them for 6 months while they found a place to live. After 6 months my brother and sil said that they were starting to get annoyed with uncle and auntie because they had a lot of weird expectations about the chores and the food and stuff but they said they'd understand since they're adjusting to a whole new country. After 6 months they moved to their own house.

My daughter has always gotten along with her cousins. Even though she's an only child, having them over has meant that she had people to hang out with. Last summer, my sil, bil, and the girls went to India for a visit. They were meant to stay for 3 months but because of covid they stayed for 6 months.

When they came back, everything was different. I don't know what happened in India but my sil and bil started making weird demands. They wanted us to only buy spicy food because it was better for us. They wanted us to start wearing Indian clothes to their house. They wanted us to eat Indian food all the time.

At first we laughed it off but then we realized they were serious. My wife and I work full time and neither of us has the time or skill or inclination to cook spicy Indian food every day. We also don't want to wear traditional clothes because they're just not comfortable. Saris are beautiful but for a day at work? No thanks.

Then my daughter's cousin started staying with us because she got a job in the same city as us. The problem was that she expected my daughter to do all the housework and cooking for her. She'd leave her dirty clothes, plates, and trash for my daughter to pick up even though we have a cleaning schedule. My daughter was also expected to make curries and other food for her cousin.

We told my sil and bil that this couldn't happen. They had an issue with that. They said we were treating her like a servant instead of family. We said she can't expect our daughter to be her maid when she's staying with us for free. They said we were being racist and that we were mistreating her.

Then out of nowhere my daughter's other cousin started asking my daughter to teach her English. Her uncle and auntie wanted her to improve her English before she went to university next year. My daughter said she was busy with school and work and had no time. They started calling my daughter racist for not helping her cousin.

Then my sil and bil started saying that my daughter was privileged and ungrateful and selfish. My daughter was upset and asked if she had done anything wrong and I said she wasn't in the wrong for not wanting to clean up after her cousin but I told her that maybe she should consider helping her cousin learn English as it would be an easy way to bond with her cousin and get closer to her uncle and auntie.

My daughter said she had no problems helping her cousin but she did have a problem with being expected to do all the housework and cooking.

My sil and bil called me and said I was teaching my daughter to be racist and treat them badly. I said that wasn't true. They said I was making my daughter hate Indians and that I was making her treat them like racists. I said she wasn't doing that. My daughter treats everyone the same and there's nothing wrong with that.

They told my wife and she said I went too far. She said there's nothing wrong with asking her to help them a little bit. I said fine. If my daughter is racist for not doing extra chores and helping her cousin then she's a racist.

My wife said I shouldn't have said that. My daughter isn't racist and I made it seem like she was. I said she isn't racist but she isn't doing anything either.

This has become a big issue between my wife and I. I think she went too far calling me racist. AITA?
