I (f) am 14 years old and have been interested in minimalism since 11?. 14 now (2024) and I’m simply more into it than ever. I have been watching lots of documentaries and videos about simple living including van life, tiny house living, minimalism and zero waste. I have simply fallen in love with the idea of living in a tiny home. I live in europe but I want to move to the US after college and live in a tiny house and live a more minimalist life. My dream also is to own a van (I know, I know, a bit cliche) and just travel but also have a home. Now to the problem. My mum (49) and dad (51) and older brother (23) don’t understand this. They are quite wealthy (my dad is a successful lawyer and my mum works in finance), so they have never had a problem with money, I guess. Anyways, they don’t like the thought of me leaving to the US (although we live by the ocean so it’s not like they would never see it), but mostly I think they are just afraid to lose control of their youngest child. (They are quite controlling) Anyways. I’m interested to hear your thoughts and tips! I know that it will be hard in the future but I believe that I can make it.

TLDR. Parent don't like my minimalist dream
