Meal prep success story

So, I had an upcoming trip to Europe and had to pay for it in 3 weeks. That was plenty of time to save for flights and hotels. Problem was, I easily burn through $70-80 a week just for meals and snacks at work. And I would need all my upcoming paychecks for the trip, so I had to solve the problem of food at work. So I decided to meal prep all my food for the 3 weeks.

I started by planning 3 weeks worth of meals: 6 days at work, with 3 meals including a snack.

I got all the ingredients, decided to make 2 meals each day and had some fun marinating chicken and steak and veggies. Then I spent all Sunday cooking the 3 meals for each day and freezing them. 18 meals per day, 7 days per week equals 126 meals.

Fast forward 3 weeks and I survived! I was never hungry, I didn't even finish all the meals that I made, and I enjoyed the ease of just dropping 3 meals into my bag and going to work. I even had enough money to buy drinks and snacks at the airport!

Moral of the story, meal prepping is a game-changer. I easily save an hour a day not having to figure out what I want to eat or running out to buy something. I even bought myself a new pan to cook up some fresh veggies to make sure I was getting enough fiber. I know it's not that hard, but I never made it a priority before. Now I'm glad that I did. I'm going to continue to meal prep because it's worth it for my health and finances.

Edit: I should have specified that I'm a chef, so it's not that hard for me to make delicious food. That's what I do at work. I just didn't prioritize myself outside of work. I cook for 200 people a day, but I didn't take care of myself.
