Communism is a good idea, but it's still inherently flawed

I love the way that communists think of people as an overall, not individually. This is great for the economy in the short term since there is no need to worry about people being poor. However, one question that always pops into my mind is how the people that work in a communist state will work towards the future of their country. Without the hope of economic gain in the future, people will never have the motivation to work towards the future of their country.

Capitalism has its issues, but at least you have the hope of gain in the future. Communism is a great idea on paper, but is inherently flawed with the idea that people will work towards the future of their country without any hope for future gain.

Feel free to comment and tell me why you think I'm wrong or if you like this idea.
