AITA for "abusing" my significant other's new game?

He's been saving up for a very long time and got an Oculus and the new Resident Evil game. He got it yesterday and played it all night and slept in this morning. Today I had plans to go to the movies with a friend of mine but that got cancelled. The only thing left was to pick up groceries and that would not take much time and I had 4 or 5 hrs before he woke up.

I decided to give it a try. I adjusted the headset, put it on, pressed the "play" button and jumped into the game. The next few mins were terrible. I manoeuved the camera by moving the controllers, not knowing what I was doing and then I got the hang of it. My boyfriend's character had already gone through a tutorial and was in a hall. I explored the area, picked up a few items, went up the stairs and that was it. I had been playing for maybe 15 mins when I heard a voice behind me.

"What the heck do you think you're doing?"

I turned around to see my boyfriend wearing a nightcap, pyjamas and looking a bit upset. I didn't know if he was joking or not but I removed the headset and saw that he was upset. He told me to "gtfo" and leave and don't touch anything. I left.

He's been giving me the "silent treatment" since yesterday night. I feel like this is unacceptable for him as I was only trying the game out and wanted to see what I was getting and I didn't do anything. I wanted to tell him off for reacting like that but I don't know if I should.

TL;DR: Boyfriend got a new game on his new Oculus. I played it for 15 mins when he was asleep because I was curious and wanted to see what it was like.
