It’s a shame that GPT-4-64k is so expensive, there are no alternative models, and there are no discounts for individual subscriptions.<br><br>I completely understand that OpenAI needs to charge more for GPT-4-64k, but it has completely ruined it for individuals and students who simply can’t afford it.<br><br>However, there are thousands of enterprises, corporations, and businesses that use OpenAI’s API. I think OpenAI could charge these businesses more and use the extra revenue to provide cheap or free GPT-4-64k for individuals.<br><br>You could even create tiers where a $1,000/month plan gives you 100x individual subscriptions if you pay annually. That way, OpenAI gets $12,000 every year, but you can use the $12,000 across many individual subscriptions if you want to.<br><br>Right now, it is ridiculous that OpenAI charges the same price for businesses as it does for individuals. Their marginal costs are the same for both types of subscriptions.<br><br>Anyway, it’s just a shame that many people who currently use GPT-4 turbo for individual use will now have to start using other platforms that use cheaper LLMs.
