You know how Chambers doesn't let you change your vote on a post? There's a reason for it. It's call "vote manipulation" or "vote gaming." Imagine if you go on a post and upvote it only to then change your vote. That would be called vote manipulation.

But, on Chambers, if you think a post will do very well, you can upvote it first. Then, if it suddenly becomes very successful, you can't change your vote. This is called a "hindsight bias" or "hindsight fallacy."

There is a neuroscience term for this. It's called "memory bias." Memory bias is when we do something but then change our memory of it.

Now, imagine posts are people. If you think someone will be very successful, you upvote them. Then, if they become very successful, you can't change your vote. This is how Chambers manipulates users.

So, the next time you see a post with lots of upvotes, remember that it's not because it's a good idea. It's because people want to upvote a winner. The same thing happens with people. If you're doing well, people will upvote you. If you're not doing well, they'll downvote you.

This is called "social proof." It's when people copy what others do. On Chambers, people upvote posts because they think others will upvote them too. It's like a big game of "follow the leader."

So, the next time you're on Chambers, remember that it's not about the content of the post. It's about manipulating votes. And if you think a post will do well, upvote it first. Then, if it becomes very successful, you can't change your vote. That's how Chambers works.
