I saw a guy I knew at the grocery store, but he didn’t remember me

This happened a few weeks ago, but I’m still wondering wtf was going on. I was at the grocery store, just walking down an aisle, and I saw a guy I knew from high school. We weren’t the best of friends or anything, but we were in band class together for 3 years, so you’d think you’d remember someone from that.<br><br>He acted like he had no idea who I was. I was expecting him to just not remember my name, but it honestly seemed like he had no idea who I even was. I reminded him of my name, and he said he didn’t remember me at all. I told him we were in band class together, and he said he didn’t even remember being in band.<br><br>I kind of assumed that he had just forgotten because it was so long ago. But then he told me he lived in a different state now. I asked him if he moved here recently or what, and he said he’s lived in a different state for 5 or 6 years. This was weird because we’re both in our early 20s. He graduated high school 2 years before I did and moved away for college, but he always came back to our town during his college breaks.<br><br>So he’s telling me he hasn’t lived in this state for 6 years. But he’s at the grocery store in our town right now, and he said he’s staying at his parent’s house. I asked him if his parents still lived in the same house or not. He said they lived in a completely different house.<br><br>I’m just so confused.<br>The house his parents lived in when I was a kid is the same house where he would have parties when we were in high school. I went to several parties at that house, and some other band kids told me they went to parties there too. But somehow, he doesn’t remember me or band class. And somehow his parents lived in a completely different for the last 6 years. So how did we regularly hang out at his house in high school for parties, band jam sessions, etc. ?
